Java Software Developer, Multiple Positions (TS/SCI)

We are currently adding Software Developers to our team to support multiple projects as our customers refactor their custom software applications to the AWS cloud. Our approach uses a micro-services architecture combined with our deep understanding of the business area to provide rapidly build and deploy solutions.

 

We’re looking for Java and web developers who are interested in expanding their skills to include micro-services architecture and cloud design, development, and deployment. This is a unique opportunity to join an established team of experienced engineers as we transform our customer’s applications using the next generation of enterprise class software solutions. This is a long-term, mission-critical effort that will be performed onsite at our customer locations in Chantilly/Reston/Herndon Virginia area.

 

We are seeking candidates at the following levels:

  • Junior level with 2 to 3 years of overall software development experience
  • Mid level with 4 to 7 years of overall software development experience
  • Senior level with 8+ years of overall software development experience

 

Experience with the following desired:

  • Programming languages such as Java, C, C++, or RoR

IT PROJECT MANAGER/SCRUM MASTER (TS/SCI)

We are seeking a talented IT Project Manager (PM) to join our team in supporting our customer in the Federal Government. This position will be located onsite at one of the customer’s locations in Northern Virginia.

 

The project manager will be responsible for planning and overseeing the activities of a team of software engineers, system engineers, and test engineers and may be responsible for collaborating with other teams. The project manager will be responsible for the overall day-to-day management of the project to include creating and executing project work plans, managing project schedules, coordinating peer reviews, and passing customer control gates. The PM will support the development, enhancement, and O&M efforts for various Java and/or Ruby on Rails applications. Will oversee and may assist with the full system development lifecycle in an agile environment, including requirements definition and user stories, detail design, testing, deployment and maintenance, and will be responsible for life cycle and project management documentation.

 

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Management or other related technical discipline. Four additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • An active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in a project management role
  • Experience with agile software development methodologies

CLOUD INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER (TS/SCI)

We are currently looking for a talented Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to perform the following:

  • Drive the creation and operation of a cloud management platform for cloud infrastructure services (IaaS) from a public cloud provider
  • Gather business and application needs
  • Design cloud infrastructure to address application requirements
  • Create and manage OS images
  • Deploy & configure cloud management platform
  • Deploy & configure automation framework
  • Configure networking; policy compliance approvals for VPN, intra-cloud network, Internet edge firewall configuration

CYBER SECURITY ENGINEER (TS/SCI)

We are hiring a Cyber Security Engineer to support the Sponsor’s Information System Security Manager (ISSM) and other cyber security tasks associated with the Sponsor’s legacy and cloud environments. Work will include providing network security and vulnerability support in the area of information assurance and incident response. The Cyber Security Engineer will support the Sponsor’s Information System Security Manager (ISSM) and must have an understanding of Accreditation and Authorization (A&A), network security and AWS cloud services.

 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Provide analysis of vulnerability results and suggesting mitigation plans for security problems.
  • Use and evaluate vulnerability tools such as, Nessus, AppDetective and WebInspect.
  • Use and evaluate incident response tools such as, HP Fortify and McAfee ePO.
  • Use and evaluate auditing tools such as Splunk.
  • Understand cloud based infrastructure as a service technologies (Amazon Web Services experience preferred).
  • Assist in the evaluation and analysis of AWS cloud services and tools from a security risk perspective.
  • Assist in providing security guidance for internal Sponsor documentation.
  • Provide analysis of vulnerabilities identified by compliance tools
  • Conduct TEM’s to verify and validate systems against NIST, RMF Sponsor internal security regulations.
  • Assist in researching, evaluating, and developing relevant Information Security policies and guidance.
  • Actively participate in or lead technical exchange meetings and application review boards, documenting actions items/results of these events.
  • Brief management, as needed, on the status of the system and/or risk mitigation activities.

  • Provide enhancement capabilities and SOPs to assessment operations for execution and implementation.

 

Required Expertise:
  • Demonstrated experience in understanding, applying, and testing IT systems against NIST 800-53/A and (DISA) Industry Standards.
  • Demonstrated experience providing analysis of vulnerability results and suggesting mitigation plans for security problems.
  • Demonstrated experience using Nessus, AppDetective and WebInspect.
  • Demonstrated experience using HP Fortify, McAfee ePO and other incident response tools.

DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR (TS/SCI)

We are hiring a Database Administrator for project teams located in Chantilly, VA and possibly other Northern Virginia locations.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Creating and maintaining all databases required for development, testing, training and production usage.
  • Performing the capacity planning required to create and maintain the databases. Work closely with system administrators to ensure application finality.
  • Performing ongoing tuning of the database instances.
  • Installing new versions of the Oracle RDBMS and its tools and any other tools that access the Oracle database.
  • Planning and implementing backup and recovery of the Oracle database, including database refresh.
  • Control migration of program, database change, reference data changes and menu changes through the development life cycle.
  • Implementing and enforce security for all of the Oracle Databases.
  • Ensuring standards are in place for all application design and code is produced with proper integrity, security and performance.
  • Applying all Oracle patches and upgrades.
  • Providing technical support to application development teams.
  • Administering all database objects, including tables, clusters, indexes, views, sequences, packages and procedures.
  • Managing shared resources amongst applications.
  • Ultimately responsibility for the physical database design.

 

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and 10 years of related experience.
  • A degree, professional, or personal experience in the following disciplines: Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Math.
  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)

  • Knowledge of the Windows, Linux and Unix operating systems.

  • Ability to perform both Oracle and also operating system performance monitoring and the necessary adjustments.

ORACLE DATABASE DEVELOPER (TS/SCI)

We are hiring a Database Developer to perform O&M and full life-cycle Application Database/software development activities on enterprise IT applications. The Developer will be a part of multiple development teams that use Ruby on Rails and Oracle technologies. The candidate will support the development, enhancement, and operations and maintenance efforts for multiple Ruby of Rails applications. Critical thinking skills will be used to proactively identify efficiencies, new partnerships or new features within the applications. The team works in a collaborative and agile environment.

 

Mandatory Skills:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph
  • 11+ years of experience writing Oracle, SQL and PL/SQL for database procedures, functions and packages
  • Application DBA experience with Oracle 11g
  • Experience with Oracle security technologies including Advanced Security Option (ASO) and Virtual Private Database (VPD)

REQUIREMENTS SPECIALIST (TS/SCI)

We are looking for a Requirements Specialist with at least six years of experience to join our Requirements team.   The primary duty is to elicit, analyze, validate, specify, verify, and manage the requirements gathering process for the customer’s stakeholders.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Eliciting requirements using a variety of methods: interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, storyboards, and workflow process analysis
  • Writing requirement specifications according to standard templates, using clear natural language
  • Decomposing high level business and user requirements into functional requirements with a suitable level of detail
  • Assisting with writing Interface Control Documents for external interface partners
  • Representing requirements using text alternatives such as Visio diagrams
  • Entering, manipulating and storing requirements within a tracking tool
  • Managing requirements traceability information and updating documentation

The system architect will partner with customer experts and the software development team to architect and implement mission specific solutions across the IT applications, infrastructure, operations, and security domains.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Plan and orchestrate the development and transition of prototypes to technology solutions
  • Participate in the identification of the customer’s technology problems, gaps, and risks, then architect scalable solutions for the enterprise
  • Lead the evaluation of emerging technologies and recommend changes to requirements

We are currently looking for a talented Systems Integrator to work closely with a customer implementing a new system. The successful candidate must have an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph to support our customer in Chantilly, VA.

 

Job Description

We have been selected to bring into our customer’s AWS environment a commercial product to support human-resource related business processes. This project has a high-level of visibility within our customer and will provide significant functional improvement for their users. We are looking for a system integrator who enjoys interacting with various types of users and learning their needs, and configuring and testing the commercial product to meet those needs. The ideal candidate will enjoy managing a variety of tasks related to configuration, implementation, and testing, as well as training users and building reports using the commercial product. This is a dynamic, fast-moving environment.

 

Responsibilities will include the following:

  • Requirements analysis based on provided customer documents and customer meetings.
  • Assist in the configuration of the commercial product, including specifying data fields and workflow steps.
  • Provide demonstrations of newly implemented configurations to customers and customer management
  • Assist in the generation of application reports using established reporting tools within the application.
  • Testing of the entire system, user interface, workflow, and reports, and results of data migration efforts.
  • Training of users to include one-on-one training, assistance, and coaching.

 

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • An active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, or equivalent experience
  • 1-5 years of systems integration and/or customer support experience
  • Ability to translate customer business requirements into specific configuration changes or specific reports
  • Ability to understand complex workflow processes
  • Ability to communicate well to understand business processes and demonstrate how configuration changes meet business needs.
  • Ability to multitask to manage a variety of requirements-related details, and manage multiple tasks according to priorities.
  • An understanding of relational database concepts (to assist with report creation)

 

The following qualifications are a plus:

  • Previous experience with commercial product configuration, especially with data element and workflow configuration
  • Previous experience with building reports
  • Amazon Web Services, or other cloud development or implementation
