Unix/Linux System Administrator
Job Description: Unix/Linux System Administrator responsible for building and maintaining a production Linux server. Must be able to install and administer IBM Websphere Lombardi Edition, Oracle, and Weblogic. Responsibilities Include: Coordinate and conduct product installations, including patches, pro-actively monitor and manage system resources to optimize operating efficiency and performance, perform troubleshooting and diagnosing and correction of problems, write scripts to automate system administration tasks, maintain system documentation and logs, maintain environment security and compliance, and perform backups and system security administration functions.
Location: Northern Virginia
Skill Requirements:
- At least 5 years Unix System Administration Experience
- Ability to successfully lead team and coordinate competing priorities
- Prefer at least 2 years experience installing and administering Weblogic and installing and administering Oracle
- Excellent verbal and communication skills and problem solving skills
- Ability to perform in a customer environment
Education: BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or related discipline preferred. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree
Clearance: Successful applicants must be US Citizens eligible for, and able to obtain, the appropriate personnel security clearance required for this position. Candidate must possess a current SSBI. A polygraph interview is required as part of the government security processing.
